It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Alan Stivell energies, virtually a rebirth. Alan Stivell’s debut, ‘Before Landing’, does not fit easily into one genre. This is one of the best Cd’s Alan Stivell has dropped to date. This album is awesome.
The Bretons In Britain is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Britons Exile To Armorica is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. When listening to The Breton Kingdom-Rouantelezh Vreizh, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. Still going through Before Landing and coming to appreciate The Breton Duchy-Dugelezh Vreizh more and more with every listen. Although The Union Pact is very melodic it is far from sad. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. The French Revolution and The 19Th Century - A catchy, upbeat tune. Blew our minds when we first heard 20Th Century - Part One. 20Th Century - Part Two great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.To Ewan My Son - Da Ewan on Before Landing is solid and easy to listen to. Dead For His People (To Yann Kel)-Marw Ewid E Fobl is perfect and different song. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. I love the melodic melody of Nine Bretons In Jail-Naw Breton ‘ba’ Prizon and to this day it makes me feel good. New Middle Part-Tamm-Kreiz New’ is a cool sing-along. Plinn - Slogan is a bit different from Alan Stivell stereotypical stuff.
