For older fans E Langonned will put a massive smile accross your face. Lead single “E Parrez Langonned” and “Gavotenn Pourled” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Alan Stivell’s debut, ‘E Langonned’, does not fit easily into one genre. This is my first Alan Stivell Album and i must say i am blown away.
Gavotenn Pourled - I like this one. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Planedenn. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. Bwthyn Fy Nain is another strong production from Alan Stivell. Ffarwel I Aberystwyth is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. Dans Fisel-Gavotenn Ar Menez-An Sagart Cheolnhar is another favourite of mine. Bal Fisel has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Deus Ganin Me D’am Bro - arguably the best track on E Langonned album. Jenovefa is a very catchy tune. Sagart O Donaill is such a excellent and optimistic song that things can get just better. Diougan Gwenc’hlan have really caught my ear and imagination. Ar Voraerion great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.Although Faili Faili Oro is very melodic it is far from sad. In Oye Vie (Bonne Nuit) full palet of sound is used by Alan Stivell to accentuate the presentation.
