It has been ten years Alan Stivell’ last studio CD, “Symphonie Celtique - Tir Na N-Og” which won Array Emmy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. It’s natural for Alan Stivell to take a stab at ‘Beaj’ considering her long-professed love for Azymuth. While no new Alan Stivell album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1979 tour in Africa. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Alan Stivell ever.
Song Gwerz I is actually a funny song. Loc’h Ar Goulen is another strong production from Alan Stivell. Divodan has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Alan Stivell’s strong vocals come to the fore. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Emskiant. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. Alan Stivell sings Imram in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. Dilestran is marvelous work of Alan Stivell. Ar C’hammou Kentan is probably one of Alan Stivell’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Ar Geoded Skedus is the first taste of the new album. Ar Bale - Check out that bassline! I like Gouel Hollvedel (I) because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. When I listen to Gouel Hollvedel (Ii) in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Gouel Hollvedel (Iii) is astounding and different song. Gouel Hollvedel (Iv) on Symphonie Celtique - Tir Na N-Og is solid and easy to listen to. An Distro - For me, this is the best of the album.
