After debuting at No. 1 last week, America’s album America Live falls to No. 2 with 565,000, a sales slide of 69%. Lead single “Tin Man” and “Muskrat Love” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Since completing 1977’s ‘Tin Man’, America fulfilled their contract with Blue Note Records and where under no obligation to release another album. This album is awesome.
It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. America offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. All of songs on America Live and have something to say letting alone Old Man Took. Daisy Jane - This one is lively and fun. Company is a very catchy tune. Hollywood is almost impossible to review. Listening to Sergeant Darkness you can hear that America has still amazing chemistry with band members. Amber Cascades is probably the highlight of the album. To Each His Own is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. I find myself hearing bits of Another Day here and there throughout my waking hours. I like the agression and power of Ventura Highway. Sister Golden Hair is a great opener for America Live. A Horse With No Name - To me, this is the best song on the America Live.
