After debuting at No. 1 last week, Amy Grant’s album A Christmas Album falls to No. 2 with 363,000, a sales slide of 84%. Lead single “Tennessee Christmas” and “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Amy Grant energies, virtually a rebirth. If I may, I suggest “Tennessee Christmas”. That one song is amazing!
In Hark! The Herald Angels Sing you won’t find any flashy solos. Charming song, great melody. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. Musically Little Town is superior to other tracks in A Christmas Album. Christmas Hymn is so unique, as each one of the songs is. Love Has Come is perfect. A unique and uplifting song. The Christmas Song (Chestnuts) (3:47) a good melody. Heirlooms (3:47) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! A Mighty Fortress/Angels We Have Heard On High is the exquisite blend of moody yet optimistic tunes.
