two years ago, Andrew Lloyd Webber briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Prologue: Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats”. It has been two years Andrew Lloyd Webber’ last studio CD, “Cats - Original London Cast (Disc 1)” which won Array Emmy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Cats - Original London Cast (Disc 1) carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. I Love Cats - Original London Cast (Disc 1) from start to finish!
No Andrew Lloyd Webber song has come close to capturing my attention as Prologue: Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats did. The Naming of Cats - This is a very lively song. The Invitation to the Jellicle Ball is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. The Old Gumbie Cat - Check out that bassline! The Rum Tug Tugger is a song to enjoy for years to come. When listening to Grizabella, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. Music and lyrics of Bustopher Jones creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Still going through Cats - Original London Cast (Disc 1) and coming to appreciate Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer more and more with every listen. Old Deuteronomy had me crying as I was able to relate so well. The Jellicle Ball is perfect. I can’t stop humming along Grizabella, The Glamour Cat. Memory is a very catchy tune.
