Now signed to Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Blue Note Records, the title track from second album “Cats CD1″ leads Andrew Lloyd Webber’s back-to-school campaign. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Andrew Lloyd Webber on ‘Overture’. There is no doubt that Andrew Lloyd Webber has talent. This is what good Soundtrack should be.
Music in Prologue (Jellicle Songs For Jellicle Cats) is exquisite as in all tracks of Cats CD1. Naming Of Cats is perfect. Listening to The Invitation To The Jellicle Ball you can hear that Andrew Lloyd Webber has still amazing chemistry with band members. I find myself hearing bits of The Old Gumbie Cat here and there throughout my waking hours. The Rum Tum Tugger is a bit different from Andrew Lloyd Webber stereotypical stuff. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Grizabella, which shows, blatantly, how much Andrew Lloyd Webber has evolved as a singer. Cats CD1 couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Bustopher Jones. Mungo Jerry and Rumpelteazer is the song that really did it for me. Old Deuteronomy - This one makes me want to not only sing along. The Jellicle Ball catches attention immediately, Grizabella (The Glamour Cat) is simply gorgeous. Memory is a very catchy tune.
