This album has some very good songs like Beautiful and Love. While no new Barbra Streisand album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1971 tour in Europe. Now signed to Barbra Streisand’s Sparrow Records, the title track from second album “Barbra Joan Streisand” leads Barbra Streisand’s back-to-school campaign. Unappreciated gift to Pop
Love hits the heart. Where You Lead is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: I Never Meant To Hurt You, which shows, blatantly, how much Barbra Streisand has evolved as a singer. One Less Bell To Answer A House (Is Not A Home) is another favourite of mine. Song Space Captain is actually a funny song. Since I Fell For You is astounding. Mother is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Barbra Joan Streisand have ended. The Summer Knows as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. I Mean To Shine is possibly the best song Barbra Streisand has come up. You’ve Got A Friend can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Barbra Streisand is all about.
