Barrabas was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Barrabas and Check Mate together. This nine-song debut EP shows the promise that Barrabas has. This disc has all of the essential Barrabas classics. This is one of Barrabas best albums
Check Mate couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Take A Wild Ride. Along The Shore is pretty funky and mellow. Barrabas must have run out of lyrics on the next track Make It Easy. There is amazing mix of music in Family Sice. Mellow Blow stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Thank Your Love is a fine track on any terms. Four Seasons Woman is almost impossible to review.
