I am not a real funk music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Forbidden’ really is amazing. This album has some very good songs like Saint Valentine and Lovers In The Rain. Since Barrabas last CD (Forbidden) on EMI Records back in 1982, I have felt a massive void in my life. If you want to hear real funk, get this record now!
I can’t stop humming along Lovers In The Rain. Black Cotton Plantation is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Stop The Horse is a striking and quite long song. There is excellent mix of music in Sex Surprise Big Surprise. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. I Need Your Lovin’ - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Inside Of Me has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Barrabas’s strong vocals come to the fore. Hello Hello (7Th Ave - 54 Th) has a fun tempo.
