It has been eleven years Bauhaus’ last studio CD, “Press Eject And Give Me The Tape” which won Array Emmy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. There is no doubt that Bauhaus has talent. Self-described as Pop with lots of words, Bauhaus comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Oh yes, this album gets Array out of Array
Rose Garden Funeral Of Sores is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. Dancing is absolutely incredible. As always, Bauhaus’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Voice of Bauhaus in Bela Lugosi’s Dead is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. A Spy In The Cab is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Press Eject And Give Me The Tape. Kick In The Eye is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. Hollow Hills - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. I like Stigmata Martyr because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Song Dark Entries is actually a funny song. Terror Couple Kill Colonel - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Bauhaus. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Double Dare. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: In The Flat Field, which shows, blatantly, how much Bauhaus has evolved as a singer. I can’t stop humming along Hair Of The Dog. Of Lillies And Remains is almost impossible to review. Waiting For The Man is a cool sing-along.
