Self-described as Vocal with lots of words, Billy Joel comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. This is one of the best Cd’s Billy Joel has dropped to date. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Billy Joel energies, virtually a rebirth. This is my first Billy Joel Album and i must say i am blown away.
Hey Girl is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Once To Make You Feel My Love gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. River of Dreams is simple, dignified and effective, Billy Joel refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Lyllabye (Goodnight, My Angel) is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. This song is dynamic and dramatic. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Greatest Hits Volume III is Shameless. The Downeaster “Alexa” is a fine track on any terms. Blew our minds when we first heard I Go to Extremes. And So It Goes is the most memorable and amazing. This track is a great song that still never gets old. I’ve found myself listening to We Didn’t Start the Fire back to back and back many times. Billy Joel sings his heart out in This is the Time. I think Baby Grand is the best song Billy Joel has ever done. A Matter of Trust is Billy Joel’s best work in years. Strong, powerful vocals of Billy Joel in An Innocent Man are very impressive. |titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive.
