Piano Man isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. IF YOU LIKE ALL Billy Joel’S SONG GO FOR IT! Lead single “Travelin’ Prayer” and “Piano Man” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Travelin’ Prayer and Piano Man is really good.
This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. You’re My Home is nothing but pure genius. Nice and different song. Worse Comes To Worst is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. Stop In Nevada is probably the most interesting track on Piano Man. If I Only Had The Words (To Tell You) - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Somewhere Along The Line still maintains something of a specific flourish. In Captain Jack full palet of sound is used by Billy Joel to accentuate the presentation.
