Since Bobby Darin last CD (18 Yellow Roses and 11 Other Hits) on Savoy Records back in 1942, I have felt a massive void in my life. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Bobby Darin energies, virtually a rebirth. This disc has all of the essential Bobby Darin classics. Such great and happy songs.
It took me a little time but I ended up loving On Broadway. Ruby Baby is really the reason why I recommend buying 18 Yellow Roses and 11 Other Hits. Reverend Mr.Black is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. The End Of The World to me is the best you can get from Bobby Darin. Bobby Darin emotions are reflected through Not For Me. Walk Right In is the first taste of the new album. From A Jack To A King - arguably the best track on 18 Yellow Roses and 11 Other Hits album. I Will Follow Her is one of the coolest songs Bobby Darin has ever recorded. Our Day Will Come is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Bobby Darin ever produced. Can’t Get Used To Losing You (2:13) - awsome. Best song on the album, love it.
