Brand X’s debut, ‘Masques’, does not fit easily into one genre. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Brand X on ‘The Poke’. Jim Jones has compared writing for Brand X’s new album to that on ‘Masques’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Masques constantly brilliant.
I listened to the opening track Masques and liked it a lot. Black Moon is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Listening to Deadly Nightshade you can hear that Brand X has still amazing chemistry with band members. There is astounding mix of music in Earth Dance. Access To Data gets you up and jumping. The Ghost Of Mayfield Lodge - To me, this is the best song on the Masques.
