‘Apollo Atmospheres and Soundtrac’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Lead single “Stars” and “Always Returning” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Since completing 1983’s ‘Stars’, Brian Eno fulfilled their contract with Sparrow Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Great Instrumental right here!
I have all of Brian Eno’s tracks and Always Returning is probably the most his introspective effort. Weightless is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Brian Eno emotions are reflected through Deep Blue Day. Silver Morning - I just love it. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Brian Eno. An Ending (Ascent) is absolutely incredible. This track is full of harmonies and gets Apollo Atmospheres and Soundtrac off to a relaxing start. Matta great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.I can’t stop playing The Secret Place. In Under Stars it becomes nowhere more obvious that Brian Eno has yet to define own style.
