It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Britten, Benjamin energies, virtually a rebirth. Since completing 1978’s ‘Peter Grimes!’, Britten, Benjamin fulfilled their contract with Savoy Records and where under no obligation to release another album. IF YOU LIKE ALL Britten, Benjamin’S SONG GO FOR IT! I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Britten, Benjamin ever.
In You Sailed Your Boat the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. The first time I listened to Peter Grimes, I Here Advise You! I was struck by its amazing sound. The Truth… The Pity… is such a marvelous and optimistic song that things can get just better. Interlude I is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. Oh, Hang at Open Doors is simply cool. Some call Hi! Give Us a Hand from Peter Grimes CD1 as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. I Have to Go from Pub to Pub - I just love it. Strong, powerful vocals of Britten, Benjamin in Let Her Among You are very impressive. Such hits like Look, the Storm Cone! will leave you hooked. This is one hell of a track. What Harbour Shelters Peace is pretty funky and mellow. Interlude II gives taste of what makes Britten, Benjamin special as a musician. Past Time to Close! has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Britten, Benjamin’s strong vocals come to the fore. We Live and Let Live the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. Have You Heard? is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Musically Now the Great Bear and Pleiades is superior to other tracks in Peter Grimes CD1. Old Joe Has Gone Fishing is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. Listening to Interlude III you can hear that Britten, Benjamin has still amazing chemistry with band members. Glitter of Waves defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. This Unrelenting Work sets the tone for the entire album.
