There is so much to love about Britten, Benjamin, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. This album has some very good songs like Fool to Let It Come to This! and What is It?. IF YOU LIKE ALL Britten, Benjamin’S SONG GO FOR IT! Lots of variety between tracks. My favorite is What is It?
Opening track What is It? shows the best of Britten, Benjamin. Overall a nice softer song. We Planned That Their Lives is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Swallow! Shall We Go is the most memorable and excellent. Now is Gossip Put on Trial is possibly the best song Britten, Benjamin has come up. Music of From the Gutter is gentle, never overbearing. Interlude IV - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Go There! is one of the best records ever. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Now!… Now! is my favorite song on Peter Grimes CD2. Peter Grimes! Nobody Here? is absolutely incredible. Interlude V is a fine track on any terms. Assign Your Prettiness to Me is a very catchy tune. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. You can find feelings on this piece of art. Embroidery in Childhood - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Mr. Swallow! which is my favorite is a truly Britten, Benjamin sounding song. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Who Holds Himself Apart. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Britten, Benjamin. In Grimes! Grimes! Britten, Benjamin is at his best. From the moment you listen to Peter, We’ve Come to Take You Home you’re hooked. To Those Who Pass the Borough - My least favorite song on this album.
