Lead single “Age Of Information” and “Gothic 17″ start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Thom Yorke has compared writing for Bruford’s new album to that on ‘Gradually Going Tornado’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. This nine-song debut EP shows the promise that Bruford has. Bruford is one of my favourite bands of all time.
Gothic 17 (5:08) a good melody. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. Q.E.D. is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. Vocals of Bruford in The Sliding Floor really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Once you hear Palewell Park, you will listen to it over and over. Although Plans For J.D. is very melodic it is far from sad. Land’s End is the albums biggest surprise.
