This ten-song debut EP shows the promise that Burning Spear has. There is so much to love about Burning Spear, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. I am not a real Reggae music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Social Living’ really is amazing. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Burning Spear ever.
Come which is my favorite is a truly Burning Spear sounding song. Social Living is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. Burning Spear sings Marcus Say Jah No Dead in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. Marcus Senior (5:10) a good melody. In Nayah Keith full palet of sound is used by Burning Spear to accentuate the presentation. Burning Spear is hitting on all cylinders in Institution. Mister Garvey is another favourite of mine. Civilize Reggae is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined.
