While no new Camel album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1982 tour in Australia. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Camel energies, virtually a rebirth. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Camel’s album On the Road 1982 falls to No. 2 with 169,000, a sales slide of 99%. This album is in perfect progression from Camel!
Highways Of The Sun is possibly the best song Camel has come up. Hymn To Her - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Camel. Camel is hitting on all cylinders in Neon Magic. A great put together song. Only one song from On the Road 1982 named Drafted really got me. Lies is beautiful, yet underrated track. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. A Heat’s Desire-End Peace on On the Road 1982 is solid and easy to listen to. Heroes is one of the coolest songs Camel has ever recorded. A fantastic track full of wonder. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Wait is the albums biggest surprise. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit.
