On the Croatia charts, superstar Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. While no new Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1970 tour in Asia. This is one of the best Cd’s Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band has dropped to date. Lots of variety between tracks. My favorite is The Dust Blows Forward ‘n The Dust Blows Back
The Dust Blows Forward ‘n The Dust Blows Back is a bit different from Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band stereotypical stuff. Voice of Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band in Dachau Blues is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Ella Guru is my favorite song on Trout Mask Replica. Hair Pie: Bake 1 I just LOVE this mix! The song Moonlight On Vermont ending is my favorite… so catchy! In Pachuco Cadaver the music gets its power. One listen to the sheer beauty of Bill’s Corpse was all I needed. Sweet Sweet Bulbs is a good listen every once in a while. Neon Meate Dream Of A Octafish - Okay, I just talked about depth. China Pig is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. My Human Gets Me Blues (2:47) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. I like Dali’s Car because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. It’s such an underrated song. Pena - My least favorite song on this album. Well - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time. Such hits like Fallin’ Ditch will leave you hooked. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Ant Man Bee (3:57) - awsome. Orange Claw Hammer - A nice song. Wild Life is Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band’s best work in years. She’s Too Much For My Mirror still maintains something of a specific flourish. Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band sings Hobo Chang Ba in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. The Blimp (Mousetrapreplica) rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. In Steal Softly Thru Snow Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band spins a tale you want to hear to the end. I like to sing along with Old Fart At Play, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. Veteran’s Day Poppy have really caught my ear and imagination.
