Lotus CD 1 (Live) isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Lead single “Going Home” and “A-1 Funk” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Carlos Santana was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Carlos Santana and Lotus CD 1 (Live) together. Great Rock right here!
Some of the arrangements found on Lotus CD 1 (Live) are surprisingly edgy. Every Step Of The Way - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. Black Magic Woman is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. There is perfect mix of music in Gypsy Queen. Oye Como Va is one of my favorite songs by Carlos Santana. Yours Is The Light marked the continuation of Carlos Santana in style evolution. Batuka is the excellent blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Xibaba (She-Ba-Ba) is outstanding work of Carlos Santana. I loved Stone Flower (Introduction) the first time I heard it. Waiting is a bit of a show-tune. Castillos De Arena, Part 1 (Sa is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Strong, powerful vocals of Carlos Santana in Free Angela are very impressive. Samba De Sausalito is a fine track on any terms.
