Self-described as Jazz with lots of words, Carlos Santana comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Carlos Santana was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Carlos Santana and Shango together. There is so much to love about Carlos Santana, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. This is the best album I have heard in a long time
Hold On to me is the best you can get from Carlos Santana. Night Hunting Time is the albums biggest surprise. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Nowhere To Run because the melody in the chorus is so good. Nueva York is possibly the best song Carlos Santana has come up. Oshun is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Music in Body Surfing is excellent as in all tracks of Shango. What Does It Take is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Let Me Inside is a gorgeous song and it grows on you. Warrior make listening to Carlos Santana like being in some sort of time warp. Shango is nothing short of a modern masterpiece.
