Lead single “Don’t Be Shy” and “On The Road To Findout” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Cat Stevens’s debut, ‘Harold and Maude’, does not fit easily into one genre. On the Thailand charts, superstar Cat Stevens’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Exciting stuff.
A unique and uplifting song. Cat Stevens breathes new life into the music in I Wish, I Wish. Miles From Nowhere is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. Tea For The Tillerman is the marvelous blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. Only one song from Harold and Maude named Where Do The Children Play really got me. Overall a nice softer song. If You Want To Sing Out, Sing Out - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Cat Stevens. Morning Has Broken is perfect work of Cat Stevens. Cat Stevens is one of artists that allow his songs like Wild World to stand on their own and be heard. Father And Son is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. I like to sing along with Lilywhite, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. Lady D’arbanville as a highlight of Harold and Maude contains a ton of marvelous melodies.
