It has been three years Chico Buarque’ last studio CD, “Chico Buarque and Maria Bethania” which won Array Grammy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. There is no doubt that Chico Buarque has talent. Since Chico Buarque last CD (Chico Buarque and Maria Bethania) on ForeFront Records back in 1975, I have felt a massive void in my life. This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
I like Sonho Impossl (The Impossible Dream) because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Sinal Fechado is one of these floating songs. One listen to the sheer beauty of Sem Fantasia was all I needed. Sem Aar as a highlight of Chico Buarque and Maria Bethania contains a ton of astounding melodies. Com Aar E Com Afeto is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. |titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive. Nota de Jornal - Chico Buarque first major hit. I like the agression and power of Gota d’ua. Best song on the album, love it. As always, Chico Buarque’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Flor da Idade is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. In Bem Querer Chico Buarque is at his best. Cobras E Lagartos is the album’s biggest hit, I think. G gets you up and jumping. Quem Te Viu, Quem Te V - A classic Chico Buarque track. Vai Levando - a classic song. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music.
