Since Chico Buarque last CD (Construcao) on Blue Note Records back in 1971, I have felt a massive void in my life. I am not a real Latin music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Construcao’ really is amazing. Construcao carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. IT makes me wanna dance!
Cotidiano is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. The song feels complete. Cordao is a fine track on any terms. Olha Maria is one of the coolest songs Chico Buarque has ever recorded. Samba De Orly is so unique, as each one of the songs is. I believe Valsinha is one of the most marvelous, heartfelt songs ever written. It’s a great pleasure to listen to Minha Historia (Gesubambino) from the beginning to the end. The song Acalanto ending is my favorite… so catchy!
