Baioque is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Cacada is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Chico Buarque sings his heart out in Mais Uma Estrela. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. Minha Embaixada Chegou is the albums biggest surprise. Soneto is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. Still going through Quando O Carnaval Chegar and coming to appreciate Mambembe more and more with every listen. Soneto is the more seemingly obscure song on Quando O Carnaval Chegar that bear up best to repeated listening. Chico Buarque is hitting on all cylinders in Partido Alto. I love the melodic melody of Bom Conselho and to this day it makes me feel good. Overall a nice softer song. Simple and heartfelt closing track Formosa closes Quando O Carnaval Chegar on a high note.
