This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Classical - Various Artists. This disc has all of the essential Classical - Various Artists classics. On Stabat Mater album, Classical - Various Artists have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Stabat Mater is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
I now have 2. Cuius animam gementem (Aria (soprano)) as one of my personal favorites. The song feels complete. 4. Quae moerebat et dolebat (Duet) pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. 6. Quis non posset (Aria (alto)) is cool and different song. 7. Pro peccatis suae gentis (Aria (soprano)) - To me, this is the best song on the Stabat Mater. This song may be the most meaningful. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. 10. Sancta Mater, istud agas (Aria (alto)) is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. Within the first few notes of 11. Fac, ut ardeat cor meum (Aria (soprano)) it’s perfectly clear that Classical - Various Artists is living this song. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. This track is a great song that still never gets old. 14. Virgo virginum praeclara (Aria (soprano)) as a highlight of Stabat Mater contains a ton of marvelous melodies. 15. Fac, ut portem Christi mortem (Ariozo (alto)) - Check out that bassline! 16. Inflammatus et accensus (Aria (soprano)) is outstanding work of Classical - Various Artists. 17. Fac me cruce custodiri (Arioso (alto)) one is one of the better boring ones. 18. Quando corpus morietur (Coro (duet)) marked the continuation of Classical - Various Artists in style evolution.
