There is so much to love about Country - Various Artists, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. When you buy a Country - Various Artists album, you know exactly what you’re getting! It’s natural for Country - Various Artists to take a stab at ‘Losin’ You (June Carter Cash)’ considering her long-professed love for Azymuth. This is what good Country should be.
I like the idea behind The Shadow of A Lady (June Carter Cash). Gatsby’s Restaurant (June Carter Cash) is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Once Before I Die (with Jerry Hensley; June Caretr Cash) is my favorite song on Appalachian Pride. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is The L&N Don’t Stop Here Anymore (June Carter Cash) because the melody in the chorus is so good. East Virginia Blues (June Carter Cash) is a striking and quite long song. Gone (June Carter Cash) very upbeat. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Appalachian Pride. I Love You Sweetheart (June Carter Cash) marked the continuation of Country - Various Artists in style evolution. Another Broken Hearted Girl (June Carter Cash) is nothing but pure genius. Appalachian Pride couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Big Balls In Nashville (June Carter Cash).
