Since Curtis Mayfield last CD (There’s No Place Like America Today) on SixSteps records back in 1975, I have felt a massive void in my life. It is very deep stuff - very exciting
This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in There’s No Place Like America Today. So In Love is a astounding, simple song by Curtis Mayfield at the top of his game. Jesus is the song that really did it for me. A fantastic track full of wonder. In Hard Times it becomes nowhere more obvious that Curtis Mayfield has yet to define own style. When I listen to Love To The People in my car when traffic ain’t going so good.
