This disc has all of the essential Daevid Allen classics. This is one of the best Cd’s Daevid Allen has dropped to date. Since completing 1982’s ‘when’, Daevid Allen fulfilled their contract with Capitol Records and where under no obligation to release another album. when and well is really good.
well is another strong production from Daevid Allen. Music and lyrics of bell creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Opening track boon shows the best of Daevid Allen. dab is the song that really did it for me. gay is one of the best records ever. Rude is simple, dignified and effective, Daevid Allen refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Strong, powerful vocals of Daevid Allen in disguise are very impressive. pearls is really a nice song to relax and listen too. The song bodygas ending is my favorite… so catchy! This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Divided Alien Playbax is fastfather. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists.
