On the Mexico charts, superstar David Darling’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. David Darling’s debut, ‘The Tao Of Cello’, does not fit easily into one genre. On The Tao Of Cello album, David Darling have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Exciting stuff.
His Wife Refused is really a nice song to relax and listen too. Ade’ is one of these floating songs. Lyrics of Walking are precise and evocative. Two Soldiers is so unique, as each one of the songs is. Under The Mountain is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Dinosaur is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. The Red House - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Wheezing is one of the more up-tempo songs on The Tao Of Cello. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. Poison is a great opener for The Tao Of Cello. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. The song Black Flag ending is my favorite… so catchy! My Big Hands (Fall Through The catches attention immediately, Combat is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. David Darling allows each song to breathe and flourish. The Blue Flame is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Big Business is a gorgeous song and it grows on you. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Get The Tao Of Cello and turn on Five Golden Sections if you are going to sip your wine late at night. There is exquisite mix of music in What A Day That Was. Big Blue Plymouth (Eyes Wide O (4:44) a good melody. Light Bath stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty.
