Since completing 1981’s ‘Government Flu’, Dead Kennedys fulfilled their contract with Capitol Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Plastic Surgery Disaster carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. This is the first studio album from Dead Kennedys since bad diagnosis in 1981. If I may, I suggest “Government Flu”. That one song is amazing!
I’ve found myself listening to Terminal Preppie back to back and back many times. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. Dead Kennedys breathes new life into the music in Well Paid Scientist. Buzzbomb is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Forest Fire - I just love it. Music in Halloween is gorgeous as in all tracks of Plastic Surgery Disaster. In Winnebago Warrior Dead Kennedys spins a tale you want to hear to the end. Riot (5:58) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. The sound in Bleed For Me is really warm and Dead Kennedys’s signature voice is still very much present. First time I heard I Am The Owl was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.Dead End - This is a very lively song. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right.
