Too-Rye-Ay is an amazing album, racked with beauty. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Dexy’s Midnight Runners. John Digester has compared writing for Dexy’s Midnight Runners’s new album to that on ‘Too-Rye-Ay’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Too-Rye-Ay touched my soul like nothing else.
The song Let’s Make This Precious ending is my favorite… so catchy! All In All is nothing but pure genius. Jackie Wilson Said is Dexy’s Midnight Runners’s best work in years. Old is one of the coolest songs Dexy’s Midnight Runners has ever recorded. Plan B is one of these floating songs. I can’t stop playing I’ll Show You. Liars A To E I just LOVE this mix! Until I Believe In My Soul - A classic Dexy’s Midnight Runners track. Voice of Dexy’s Midnight Runners in Come On Eileen is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. The sound in The Celtic Soul Brothers (US Mix) is really warm and Dexy’s Midnight Runners’s signature voice is still very much present. Jackie Wilson Said (Live) is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. Come On Eileen (Live) is one of the more up-tempo songs on Too-Rye-Ay. I like to sing along with Marguerita Time, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. I like the agression and power of Respect (Live). Music and lyrics of Dubious creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Love Part 2 is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. T.S.O.P. is a astounding song and it grows on you.
