Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Dinah Shore on ‘Bouquet of Blues’. Dinah Shore had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. Since completing 1956’s ‘Bouquet of Blues’, Dinah Shore fulfilled their contract with Mute Records and where under no obligation to release another album. This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
Good for Nothin’ Joe has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Born to Be Blue (3:06) a good melody. Blues In The Night - This one is lively and fun. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Lonesome Gal. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Moanin’ Low. Voice of Dinah Shore in Any Place I Hang My Hat Is Home is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. I Got It Bad And That Ain’t Good one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. The first time I listened to Warm Hearted Women I was struck by its gorgeous sound. Memphis Blues is a cool sing-along. Dinah Shore is hitting on all cylinders in What Can I Say After I Say I’m Sorry.
