There is no doubt that D.O.A. has talent. There were many famous songs of D.O.A. available. Since completing 1981’s ‘D.O.A.’, D.O.A. fulfilled their contract with Virgin Records and where under no obligation to release another album. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
Untitled - D.O.A. first major hit. Lyrics of Slumlord are precise and evocative. Only one song from Hardcore ‘81 named Musical Interlude really got me. I Don’t Give A Shit have really caught my ear and imagination. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Mctfd, which shows, blatantly, how much D.O.A. has evolved as a singer. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Communication Breakdown because the melody in the chorus is so good. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. Fucked Up Baby is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Smash The State is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. My Old Man’s A Bum is astounding. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. I like the idea behind Waiting For You.
