After debuting at No. 1 last week, Donald Byrd’s album Royal Flush falls to No. 2 with 551,000, a sales slide of 96%. Lead single “Hush” and “I’m A Fool To Want You” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. It’s natural for Donald Byrd to take a stab at ‘Hush’ considering her long-professed love for Ultra Dolphins. Overall, I would highly recommend Royal Flush CD.
I’m A Fool To Want You - another great track from the Royal Flush album. Jorgie’s is the album’s biggest hit, I think. After few listenings I started to like Shangri-La more and more. 6 M’s have really caught my ear and imagination. Requiem is a excellent, simple song by Donald Byrd at the top of his game.
