Maria Stuarda is an amazing album, racked with beauty.Lead single “Act III. Scena 3: Ah! se un giorno da queste ritorte (Maria)” and “Act III. Scena 3: Giunge il Conte (Talbot)” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Donizetti, Gaetano was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Donizetti, Gaetano and Maria Stuarda together. Donizetti, Gaetano is one of my favourite bands of all time.
Act III. Scena 3: Giunge il Conte (Talbot) to me is the best you can get from Donizetti, Gaetano. Act III. Scena 3: D’un cor che muore reca il perdono (Maria) is excellent work of Donizetti, Gaetano. Act III. Scena 3: O colpo!… E’ gia vicino del tuo morir (Famigliari, Cecil) is probably the highlight of the album. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Act III. Scena 3: Anna!… Qui piu sommessi favellate (Tutti i famigliari di Maria…) is my favorite song on Maria Stuarda. This song may be the most meaningful. Act III. Scena 2: Lascia contenta al carcere (Talbot) has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Donizetti, Gaetano’s strong vocals come to the fore. Act III. Scena 2: Quando di luce rosea (Maria) is the more seemingly obscure song on Maria Stuarda that bear up best to repeated listening. Act III. Scena 2: O mio buon Talbot! (Maria) makes a person feel astounding. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. Still going through Maria Stuarda and coming to appreciate Act III. Scena 2: Vanne, indegno, t’appare nel volto (Elisabetta) more and more with every listen. Act III. Scena 1: D’una sorella, o barbara (Leicester) is a striking and quite long song. Overall a nice softer song. Act III. Scena 1: Quella vita a me funesta (Elisabetta) is one of the more up-tempo songs on Maria Stuarda. Act III. Scena 1: E pensi? e tardi? (Cecil) is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. I listened to the opening track Act II. Va, preparati, furente (Elisabetta) and liked it a lot. Listening to Act II. Deh! l’accogli… Morta al mondo, e morta al trono (Leicester, Maria) you can hear that Donizetti, Gaetano has still amazing chemistry with band members. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Act II. (E’sempre la stessa…) (Elisabetta). Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Maria Stuarda is Act II. Qual loco e questo? (Elisabetta). Act II. Ah! Se il mio cor tremo giammai (Maria) is a fine track on any terms. Act II. Da tutti abbandonata (Maria) one of the best in my collection. Musically Act II. Ah! non m’inganna la gioia! (Maria) is superior to other tracks in Maria Stuarda. The song feels complete. Act II. O nube! che lieve per l’aria ti aggiri (Maria) - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Act II. Allenta il pie, Regina (Anna) is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Act I. (Sul crin la rivale la man mi stendea…) (Elisabetta) is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. No Donizetti, Gaetano song has come close to capturing my attention as Act I. Si! Era d’amor l’immagine (Leicester) did. Act I. Sei tu confuso? (Elisabetta) is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Act I. Questa imago, questo foglio (Talbot) is beautiful, yet underrated track. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Act I. Hai nelle giostre, o Talbot, chiesto di me? (Leicester), which shows, blatantly, how much Donizetti, Gaetano has evolved as a singer. Act I. Fra voi perche non veggio il Conte? (Elisabetta) - A classic Donizetti, Gaetano track. Act I. Ah! dal cielo discenda un raggio (Elisabetta) is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Act I. In tal giorno di contento (Talbot) is probably the most interesting track on Maria Stuarda. All of songs on Maria Stuarda and have something to say letting alone Act I. (Ah! quando all’ara scorgermi…) (Elisabetta). Lyrics of Act I. Si, vuoi di Francia il Rege (Elisabetta) are precise and evocative. Act I. Introduzione… Qui s’attenda, ell’e vicina (Cortigiani) - A catchy, upbeat tune.
