I am not a real Vocal music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Take One!’ really is amazing. nine years ago, Donna Hightower briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Maybe You’ll Be There”. Take One! carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
One listen to the sheer beauty of Maybe You’ll Be There was all I needed. Lover Come Back To Me defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Take One! is Because Of You. Please Don’t Take Your Love Away From Me is one of the coolest songs Donna Hightower has ever recorded. C’est La Vie is a bit different from Donna Hightower stereotypical stuff. Too Young stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. So much energy, so exciting a sound.What sets Anutime Anyday Anywhere apart is Donna Hightower’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. Trouble In Mind (2:30) - Oh, this is one of my favorites!
