When you buy a Donna Summer album, you know exactly what you’re getting! After debuting at No. 1 last week, Donna Summer’s album The Wanderer falls to No. 2 with 724,000, a sales slide of 98%. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Donna Summer energies, virtually a rebirth. I wish that “The Wanderer” album was instrumental.
Music of Looking Up is gentle, never overbearing. Album opener Breakdown is a bright, upbeat ditty. This song is dynamic and dramatic. Running For Cover is the most memorable and exquisite. Cold Love is Donna Summer’s best work in years. Donna Summer breathes new life into the music in Who Do You Think You’re Foolin. Nightlife is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. Stop Me is another strong production from Donna Summer. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with I Believe In Jesus.
