Oriental Exotica isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. IF YOU LIKE ALL Easy Listening - Various Artists’S SONG GO FOR IT! This disc has all of the essential Easy Listening - Various Artists classics. It is very deep stuff - very exciting
China Nights (Martin Denny) is absolutely incredible. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Ah Me Furi (Martin Denny). Japanese Farewell Song (Sayonara; Martin Denny) is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. This is one hell of a track. A great put together song. I’ve found myself listening to March Of The Siamese Children (Martin Denny) back to back and back many times. This song stands out greatly from the others. This track is a great song that still never gets old. M’bira (Martin Denny) still maintains something of a specific flourish. Vocals of Easy Listening - Various Artists in On A Little Street In Singapore (Martin Denny) really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Chinese Lullaby (Martin Denny) is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Ringo Oiwake (Martin Denny). Limehouse Blues (Martin Denny) is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. After few listenings I started to like Sake Rock (Martin Denny) more and more. Firecracker (Martin Denny) - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. It’s a great pleasure to listen to Sukiyaki (Martin Denny) from the beginning to the end. Ringo Oiwake (Arthur Lyman) - This one makes me want to not only sing along. China Clipper (Arthur Lyman) which is my favorite is a truly Easy Listening - Various Artists sounding song. The song Katsumi Love Theme (Arthur Lyman) ending is my favorite… so catchy! Sakura (Arthur Lyman) sets the tone for the entire album. March Of The Siamese Children (Arthur Lyman) is marvelous work of Easy Listening - Various Artists. Ye Lai Sian (Arthur Lyman) is a cool song and it grows on you. Easy Listening - Various Artists sings his heart out in Otome San (Japanese Drinking Song; Arthur Lyman).
