It has been fifteen years Edgar Froese’ last studio CD, “Solo 1974-1979″ which won Array Academy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. It’s natural for Edgar Froese to take a stab at ‘Drunken Mozart In The Desert’ considering her long-professed love for Universal Soul. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Edgar Froese energies, virtually a rebirth. Overall, I would highly recommend Solo 1974-1979 CD.
If 810 (Excerpt) as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. Tropic Of Capricorn (Remixed Excerpt) is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. As always, Edgar Froese’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Pa 701 (Remixed Excerpt) is one of the best records ever. Stuntman - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. So much energy, so exciting a sound. When I listen to Pizarro And Athaualpa (Remixed Excerpt) in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Ngc 891 (Re-Recorded) is probably the most interesting track on Solo 1974-1979.
