It’s natural for Edith Piaf to take a stab at ‘Bal Dans Ma Rue’ considering her long-professed love for Universal Soul. IF YOU LIKE ALL Edith Piaf’S SONG GO FOR IT! Lead single “Bal Dans Ma Rue” and “Le Prisonnier De La Tour” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Great Chanson right here!
Le Prisonnier De La Tour is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Edith Piaf ever produced. Paris is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. This track is a great song that still never gets old. Pleure Pas is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. La P’tite Marie is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Voice and instruments in Tous Les Amoureux Chantent complement each other. Hymne A L’amour is a very catchy tune. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Le Ciel Est Ferme because the melody in the chorus is so good. Il Fait Bon T’aimer is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. Le Chevalier De Paris is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Hymne A L’amour have ended. Edith Piaf allows each song to breathe and flourish. Hymne A L’amour couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track C’est D’la Faute A Tes Yeux. La Fete Continue catches attention immediately, Hymn To Love (Hymne A L’amour) Anglais is pretty funky and mellow. Such hits like The Three Bells (Les Trois Cloches) Anglais will leave you hooked. La Vie En Rose-Anglais is one of the coolest songs Edith Piaf has ever recorded. Simply A Waltz (Simplement Une Valse) Anglais the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. Musically Il Y Avait is superior to other tracks in Hymne A L’amour. I have all of Edith Piaf’s tracks and Chante Moi is probably the most his introspective effort. Opening track Chanson Bleue shows the best of Edith Piaf.
