five years ago, Elton John briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Little Jeanie”. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Elton John on ‘Chasing The Crown’. This ten-song debut EP shows the promise that Elton John has. Chasing The Crown and Little Jeanie is really good.
This song is dynamic and dramatic. Sartorial Eloquence is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. I find myself hearing bits of Two Rooms At The End Of The World here and there throughout my waking hours. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on 21 AT 33 is White Lady White Powder. Dear God is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Never Gonna Fall In Love Again one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. In Take Me Back it becomes nowhere more obvious that Elton John has yet to define own style. Give Me The Love is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction.
