This is the first studio album from Ennio Morricone since bad diagnosis in 1965. Great Instrumental right here!
The opening track Street Of Tebes is very much like you would expect from other albums. Lyrics of June 1956-The People Revolt are precise and evocative. I listened to the opening track The Battle Of Algiers March and liked it a lot. Sorrow In The Casbah is pretty funky and mellow. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. July 1956-Underground Re-Explodes is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. Blew our minds when we first heard Clandestine Marriage. January 1957-Surrounding The Casbah is a fine track on any terms. Tortures - Ennio Morricone first major hit.
