I am not a real Blues music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Happy, Happy Birthday Eric’ really is amazing. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Eric Clapton’s album Happy, Happy Birthday Eric falls to No. 2 with 721,000, a sales slide of 53%. Since completing 1976’s ‘It’s Eric Clapton’s Birthday (Billy Preston - Vocal)’, Eric Clapton fulfilled their contract with ForeFront Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Smart music for smart people.
In Who Do You Love? (Van Morrison - Vocal) the music gets its power. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Happy, Happy Birthday Eric. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. |titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive. Simple and heartfelt closing track Adios Mi Corason (Bob Dylan - Vocal) closes Happy, Happy Birthday Eric on a high note. The Water Is Wide (Bob Dylan - Vocal) on Happy, Happy Birthday Eric is solid and easy to listen to. Idiot Wind (Bob Dylan - Vocal) is one of the best records ever. This song is dynamic and dramatic. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing.
