There is so much to love about Fabrizio de Andre, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Lead single “Laudate Dominum” and “L’Infanzia Di Maria” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. It’s natural for Fabrizio de Andre to take a stab at ‘Laudate Dominum’ considering her long-professed love for Orkrist. Check it every song is worth the money for the La Buona Novella CD!
In L’Infanzia Di Maria the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Il Ritorno Di Giuseppe is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Il Sogno Di Maria is Fabrizio de Andre’s best work in years. Ave Maria is such a marvelous and optimistic song that things can get just better. Maria Nella Bottega D’Un Falegname is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. Via Della Croce is one of the best records ever. Tre Madri is a medium tempo tune. This is probably my favorite song on the album. Laudate Hominem is pretty funky and mellow.
