Since Fear last CD (The Record) on EMI Records back in 1982, I have felt a massive void in my life. This disc has all of the essential Fear classics. I am not a real Rock: Punk-Rock music type of person, but i have to admit ‘The Record’ really is amazing. Let’s Have a War and Beef Bologna is really good.
A great put together song. Camarillo is Fear’s best work in years. I Don’t Care About You - Okay, I just talked about depth. New York’s Alright If You Like Saxophones one of the best in my collection. Listening to Gimme Some Action you can hear that Fear has still amazing chemistry with band members. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Some call We Destroy the Family from The Record as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. I Love Livin’ in the City is just simply stunning. Disconnected is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. In We Gotta Get Out of This Place you won’t find any flashy solos. Fresh Flesh makes a person feel gorgeous. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Fear. I listened to the opening track No More Nothing and liked it a lot. Fuck Christmas [*] is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined.
