On Come Fly With Me album, Frank Sinatra have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Frank Sinatra was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Frank Sinatra and Come Fly With Me together. ‘Come Fly With Me’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Come Fly With Me and Around The World is really good.
In Around The World you won’t find any flashy solos. Frank Sinatra sings Isle Of Capri in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. Moonlight In Vermont is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Come Fly With Me have ended. Autumn In New York to me is the best you can get from Frank Sinatra. On The Road To Mandalay is probably one of Frank Sinatra’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Come Fly With Me. April In Paris is the albums biggest surprise. It’s such an underrated song. I was truly moved when I heard Brazil. Blue Hawaii have really caught my ear and imagination. It’s Nice To Go Trav’ling is a good listen every once in a while.
